Capercaille and Black grouse in Russia

Capercaillie is one of the oldest birds on Earth. This bird has almost disappeared in most of European countries but it is still plentiful in Russia. We keep our traditions of hunting Capercaillie in Spring. It is a very exciting hunt. You will stalk Capercaillie very early in the morning, almost in the dark. It may seem that even a light sound of your move, even your heart bit can frighten the bird away

How to Get There:

After arrival in Moscow airport you will be met by our representative, who will help you with all custom formalities and accompany you to the railway station. We take you to Kirov region by train of Trans-Siberian Railway which moves through Russia from West to East or we take you to Tver region by car.

Hunting:

Capercaillie hunting takes place early in the morning in the twilight. Hunter approaches to the Capercaillies which sit on the branches and sing. During singing they become deaf and this give you an opportunity to shoot them. Hunters shoot a Black grouse from the hide.

Weather:

During daylight hours the temperature is from +10°C to 20° C and during nighttime temperature is from 0°C to + 5°C.
