Finally we did it!

It was long time ago since we started to discuss combination of Kuban (Western) Tur + Chamois + Mid-Caucasian Tur with Jim Shockey. Last year the whole trip was rather complicated from the very beginning: flight’s delay to Min Vody because of bad weather that pursued us during the trip. That weather with pouring rains, snow storms and fogs didn’t let Jim hunt. As he said “Caucasus told me – go back home, it’s now your time”. But this year everything was quite opposite.
Outstanding Kuban (Western) Tur has been taken on the second day of hunting. First evening was spent for spotting the Turs. And next day Jim got a very nice trophy. Measurements told us that it will be for sure Rank 5 in SCI Record book but most probably Rank 4. Outstanding!
After 2 days nice chamois joined trophy list. After the shot chamois fell down from the rocks and broke horns a bit. But still a good trophy.
Mid-Caucasian Tur has been harvested under the same scenario as Kuban Tur: spotting the animals on the first day of hunting in the evening with shooting a nice trophy next day. On the whole, it was a very exciting hunt with excellent trophies taken!
