The Kuban (Western) Tur is a highly sought-after trophy species. Its population is limited to a relatively small area within the Caucasus Mountains, making it a rare and valuable hunt.
Hunting for Kuban (Western) Tur is a challenging and rewarding experience. Over the past several years, our clients have achieved a 100% success rate.
You will first fly to Moscow, where our team will meet you at the airport, assist with customs, and transfer you to your hotel.
The next morning, you will take a domestic flight to Mineralnye Vody, which takes approximately three hours.
The hunting season runs from August 1 to November 30.
This hunt involves a combination of horseback riding, walking, and hiking in mountainous terrain. Basic riding experience is required.
Each day, you will explore high mountain areas, glassing hillsides and feeding zones using binoculars. Temporary tent camps are set up in specific locations depending on where animals are found.
Kuban Tur are usually located in remote areas at elevations of around 9,000 feet (2,700 meters). Once a suitable trophy is spotted, the final approach is done on foot.
Good physical condition is important for a successful hunt.
Accommodation is simple and functional. You will stay in basic hunting cabins and tented camps.
Spike camps are used frequently, so you should be prepared for modest conditions.
Weather conditions can vary significantly due to the high altitude and nearby glaciers.
• In August to mid-September, daytime temperatures range from 25–27°C (77–80°F), with nighttime temperatures of 2–5°C (35–40°F).
• From mid-September to October, daytime temperatures drop to 10–15°C (50–59°F), with nighttime temperatures around 5° – 0° С (41–32°F).
• November: daytime highs 0–5°C (32–41°F), nighttime lows −10 to −5°C (14–23°F)
Snow is possible at higher elevations starting in early September.
