MONGOLIA

Mongolia, located in the east of Eurasia, almost in the heart of Central Asia, is known to many of us as an inland sparsely populated country with centuries-old traditions of nomadism. However, at the beginning of the 21st century, 3/5 of the country’s population already lives in the cities of Mongolia. But the rest of them still prefer a nomadic lifestyle. Mongolia is one of the largest countries on our planet in terms of area — 1,564,116 km2. This country has only two “neighbors”: Russia to the north, China to the south, west, and east. At first glance, Mongolia’s nature is poor and monotonous. In reality, local ecosystems are home to many species of Asian flora and fauna. The diversity of species is such that Mongolia’s nature is often compared to the famous parks of Africa. Mongolia’s rivers and lakes are rich with fish, which makes the country an exceptionally attractive destination not only for hunting but for sport fishing as well.
HUNTING
When hunting in Mongolia, vehicles are used intensively to scout the area, especially in the Gobi Desert. The entire daylight is used for hunting, the search for the trophies is carried out through binoculars and a scope. Hunting Altai argali and Altai ibex in the Altai mountains is more difficult than in the Gobi. The mountains in Altai reach 3,000 meters or more, in Gobi 1000-1200 meters, and the Hangay ranges are about 2000-2500 meters. Horses are often used in Altai. The average shooting distance is 300-500 meters.
ACCOMMODATION
The base camps are equipped with traditional Mongolian yurts. The yurts are spacious, have a covered floor, and are comfortable for 2-3 people. They are equipped with a stove and beds. Mongolian cuisine is the culinary traditions of the Mongols, the indigenous people of Mongolia. The traditional Mongol diet is associated with cattle breeding.
