(EN) Low Tatra Chamois in Slovakia
Scientifics separated the Tatra chamois from the Alpine chamois in 1972 because of its larger skull and certain other cranial measurements, its somewhat different coloration, and its different ecological requirements. Its horns, however, are about the same size as those of the Alpine chamois.
The number of tags for the very unique Low Tatra chamois is very limited / only 4-5 per year / and the trophy quality is very good.
How to get there
The hunting areas are located in North-East and North-West Slovakia, appr. 300 km away from Budapest and 500 km from Vienna airport.
